Smart Tattoo Care Advice

A tattoo is an investment of time and money. The right aftercare will ensure your tattoo stays bright and beautiful for years to come. Our artists know how to care for the particular colours and techniques used on your unique design. Before you leave with you brand new tattoo, they can give you very specific instructions on caring for your beautiful new piece.

Use the tips below to protect your tattoo from infection and fading.
  • Your new tattoo will consist of an area of tiny skin breaks caused by the tattoo needles. Your artist will cover the site at completion of the tattoo to prevent the site bleeding and catching on clothing. - THIS DRESSING IS DESIGNED TO GET YOU HOME AND SHOULD BE REMOVED WITHIN THE HOUR
  • Wash your new tattoo regularly with antibacterial soap for the first two to three weeks to prevent infection
  • Start using cream the morning after your tattoo. Once in the morning, once at night - We recommend Bepanthen cream. - Do not over cream your tattoo; Less is More.
  • Avoid tight clothing that will rub your scabbing for the first two weeks
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun or water during the healing process
  • No Swimming, bathing, washing up dirty dishes etc for the first two weeks after receiving your tattoo (showers are fine)
  • Avoid letting animals (dogs, cats etc) near the tattoo until fully healed
  • Do not pick, peel or scratch any scabbing
  • Always use sunscreen when going outside to avoid fading
  • Always keep your tattoo moisturised
